Dr Matt Chia is a Specialist and Consultant Orthodontist with over 20 years of combined clinical and academic experience across both hospital and private practice.
He diagnoses and manages the full range of orthodontic cases, from mild malocclusion to complex skeletal discrepancies requiring multidisciplinary planning and specialist-level care.
Dr Matt Chia has been actively involved in postgraduate orthodontic education for nearly two decades and is Co-Lead of the Diploma in Orthodontics programme. He plays a central role in training specialist registrars and mentoring clinicians in advanced orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
His academic contributions include extensive publications in peer-reviewed journals and regular lecturing nationally and internationally, with a particular focus on diagnostic accuracy, clinical decision-making, and safe orthodontic care.
Dr Matt Chia also holds senior responsibilities in postgraduate examinations, contributing to assessment and standard-setting within recognised orthodontic training pathways.
His teaching combines specialist clinical expertise with an academic basis, aimed at developing diagnostic confidence and improving the safety and quality of Orthodontic treatment delivered by general dentists.
